Public Schools in Goulbourn and Rideau

Let's make
every school
an excellent
school!

The group of schools serving Goulbourn and Rideau centres around South Carleton High School. Its three feeder schools are A. Lorne Cassidy ES (Grades JK-8), Goulbourn MS (Grades 6-8), and Rideau Valley MS (Grades 6-8). Munster (Grades JK-5) ES, Richmond PS (Grades JK-5) and Stittsville PS (Grades JK-5) are feeder schools for Goulbourn MS. Kars PS (Grades JK-5), Manotick PS (Grades JK-5) and North Gower/Marlborough PS (Grades JK-5) are feeder schools for Rideau Valley MS.

All Goulbourn and Rideau public elementary schools offer the Regular English program and, as needed, special education programs and services, with the exception of Kars PS, which offers only French Immersion programs and special education support as required. The Early French Immersion program (Grades SK-8) is available at Kars PS, Manotick PS and Rideau Valley MS in the Rideau area, and at A. Lorne Cassidy ES, Goulbourn MS and Stittsville PS in the Goulbourn area. The Middle French Immersion program (Grades 4-8) is newly available for Rideau area students at Kars PS, being phased in starting with Grade 4 this year.  Stittsville and rural Goulbourn students may access Middle French Immersion at Katimavik ES in Kanata. The Late French Immersion program (Grades 7-8) is being phased out in favour of expanding Middle French Immersion, but will continue to be available at Rideau Valley MS and Goulbourn MS as long as enrolment remains viable.

South Carleton High School serves students in both the English and French Immersion programs.  In addition, the Frederick Banting Secondary Alternate Program located in Stittsville offers individualized programming for students whose needs or circumstances are not best served in a traditional school setting.

More information about each of the Goulbourn and Rideau schools can be accessed through the menu at the top of this page.
