West Carleton Secondary School main entranceWest Carleton Secondary School is a public high school, located in Dunrobin, serving West Carleton, rural Kanata and the Morgan's Grant and Briarbrook areas of Kanata for regular English and French Immersion programs in Grades 9 through 12.

West Carleton S.S. is an exemplary community high school, offering a range of programs to support the diverse needs and interests of its students, including both English and French Immersion courses and support for special education needs.  School staff have been instrumental in introducing new innovative courses in technology, and have also introduced new E-learning courses to enrich the options available to students.  The school is semestered, with the first semester from September to January, and the second semester from February to June.  Most students take four credit courses per semester.

The high school is home to the Bill Mason Centre for Outdoor Education, which serves the entire Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as a resource for programs in environmental studies and outdoor education. West Carleton S.S. not only has easy access to the outdoor resources of the Bill Mason Centre to support curriculum in many subject areas, but also has facilities related to the Centre inside the school.

West Carleton S.S. students and staff have distinguished themselves in many ways during the school's 22 years of existence, including provincial and national awards to students and staff in such diverse areas as student leadership, mathematics, visual arts and drama. Some 80% of graduates enter post-secondary programs, many with awards and scholarships.
