Got a Problem?Lynn Scott believes in being accessible to the communities she represents and to public school parents and ratepayers throughout the Ottawa-Carleton area. In a typical year, she deals with about 800 telephone calls from parents and other constituents, as well as a significant volume of e-mail and letters. Unlike municipal councillors, OCDSB trustees do not have their own offices with staff to answer telephones and look after messages. If Lynn is not available when you call her at (613) 832-3813, please leave a message, and she will get back to you as soon as possible. Lynn Scott welcomes your input on the wide range of issues affecting students and schools in Zone 1 and across the OCDSB. She will be pleased to discuss your concerns about the Board's policies, and relies on the informed opinions of school councils, individual parents and ratepayers to help define the positions she takes in the Board decision-making process. Parents with concerns specific to their children's education in a particular class or school should raise their concerns first with the teacher and, if necessary, with the principal of the school. Parents with concerns about their children's school bus transportation should contact the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority at 613-224-8800 or follow the e-mail links at http://www.ottawaschoolbus.ca/content.php?sec=11 . The West Zone (613-224-8800 Ext. 2383) covers all schools located in Goulbourn, Stittsville and West Carleton; the Centre West Zone (613-224-8800 Ext. 2382) covers schools located in Kars, Manotick and North Gower. Please note that city councillors have no authority over school transportation services. If your problem is not resolved with contacting the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, please contact Lynn Scott, as your school board trustee. If you have a problem that cannot be resolved at your local school, you might wish to contact the Superintendent of Instruction who oversees the schools in your area:
Where necessary, Lynn Scott will help to facilitate communication between parents and schools, and between parents and central staff, with a view to finding a resolution to problems. Contact information for Lynn Scott can be had by clicking at the top or bottom of this page. She looks forward to hearing from you. |
