Located in Manotick near the centre of Long Island in the Rideau River, Manotick P.S. is a public elementary school offering the regular English and Early French Immersion programs from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5. The attendance area includes the village of Manotick and vicinity and also parts of southeast Nepean, southwest Gloucester and northwest Osgoode Township.

In September 2006, Manotick P.S. had an enrolment of 270 students in the regular English and Early French Immersion programs.  Effective September 2006, a number of students in part of the Riverside South area have been redirected from Manotick P.S. to the newly opened Steve MacLean Public School in Riverside South.

Opened in 1942 as a continuation school, Manotick Public School received a major addition in 1964, as well as subsequent renovations and upgrades, including the development of a networked computer lab. Its spacious playground is adjacent to a park and soccer field. Manotick P.S. enjoys the support of a number of service organizations in the community. The school community values rich local traditions and history dating from Manotick's 19th century origins as a mill-town and overnight stop for Rideau River traffic.

On completion of Grade 5 at Manotick P.S., students are directed to Rideau Valley M.S. in Kars for Grades 6 through 8 in the regular English and Early French Immersion programs. Students may also choose to enter the Late French Immersion program at Rideau Valley in Grade 7.
