Lynn Scott presenting issues © Lynn Scott 2000As one of 12 trustees on the OCDSB, Lynn Scott shares in policy and budget decisions for the whole OCDSB. As the Zone 1 representative, she brings a local perspective into the discussion preceding Board decisions, with a view to ensuring that the needs and interests of rural students are respected and taken into consideration in Board decision-making.

Concerns about the Board's policies should be addressed directly to Trustee Lynn Scott or to the Chair and all trustees of the Board. Lynn Scott welcomes your input on the wide range of issues affecting students and schools in Zone 1 and across the OCDSB. Where the issue is not specific to policy development or budget decisions, she often assists to facilitate communication between parents and schools, and between parents and central staff, with a view to finding a resolution to any problem.

Parents with concerns specific to their children's education in a particular class or school should raise their concerns first with the teacher and, if necessary, with the principal at the school. The senior management of the OCDSB includes the Director of Education and twelve senior staff, who oversee the management of schools and central departments. For the 2008-2009 school year, Superintendent Laura McAlister is responsible for all the schools in West Carleton, and Superintendent Walter Piovesan is responsible for all the schools in Goulbourn and Rideau, except for the Frederick Banting Secondary Alternate Program which is under Superintendent Barrie Hammond.  All of these superintendents may reached through (613) 721-1820.
