Eumacaria latiferrugata is a somewhat fragile-looking geometrid,
with pale whitish tan wings, with brown antemedial, medial, postmedial and
terminal lines. There is a very slight sprinkling of brown scales in the
medial and basal areas, but the area outside the pm line on both wings is
heavily sprinkled with brown scales except for a pale apical patch on the
forewing. Even in a fresh specimen, the brown almost looks as though it
has been partly rubbed off, and the apical patch always makes me think someone
has taken an eraser to the corners of the forewings. Covell (1984)
indicates a wingspan from 2.0 to 2.5 cm.
According to Covell, the larvae of Eumacaria latiferrugata
feed on apple, plum and cherry.
